This resource provides ample practice with the syllable types c + le. Students will work through 8 different types of interactive activities with this Google Slides resource focusing specifically on open vs. closed syllables and long vs. short vowel sounds. The final syllable is always unstressed and includes one consonant + le.
Targeted skills within the 8 activities includes:
✨Distinguishing between the open vs closed syllables & long vs short vowel sounds
✨Word sorts based on the final syllable le
✨Identifying words that show the syllable type of consonant + le
✨Choosing the correct final syllable given a picture
✨Deconstructing 2 syllable words distinguishing the first and second syllable
✨Grapheme boards
✨Inserting syllable breaks, labeling vowels & consonants, and choosing open vs. closed first syllables
✨Decodable stories using circles to identify the final syllable le
Included in this product are 2 introduction slides demonstrating how the syllable break determines whether is syllable is open or closed. Following the introduction are 3 rounds of the 8 activities, broken up by a transition slide to easily identify the beginning and ending of each round. This allows you to differentiate how much and when your students complete the activities. Students can complete 1 round each day during a given week, or complete the assignment all at once.
This product will open as a PDF where you will see detailed instructions and access to a copy of the digital link that you will use to access the slides. A copy of the slides will appear in your Google Drive when you click ‘make a copy.’ From there, the resource can be shared in your google classroom with your students. Please be sure to read the directions carefully to ensure each of your students gets their own copy of the resource.
